The Addams Family 2 is a 2021 computer-animated supernatural road black comedy film directed by Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon, co-directed by Laura Brousseau and Kevin Pavlovic, written by Dan Hernandez, Benji Samit, Ben Queen, and Susanna Fogel, and based on the characters created by Charles Addams. Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloe Grace Moretz, Nick Kroll, Snoop Dogg, Bette Midler, Javon Walton, Bill Hader, and Wallace Shawn feature in the sequel to the 2019 film The Addams Family. It follows the Addams family as they embark on a road vacation.
On October 1, 2021, United Artists Releasing released the picture in theaters in the United States, followed by an international release on October 8 by Universal Pictures. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and cases of the SARS-CoV-2 Delta strain, it was also made available for online rental in the United States and Canada on the same day. The picture grossed more than $93 million worldwide and received mostly unfavorable reviews from critics who panned the humor and plot.

Storyline: The Addams Family 2
The family intends to travel to Salem, Massachusetts, but Fester decides to stop in Niagara Falls instead. Later, the family visits Sleepy Hollow, New York. When Gomez and Morticia bring up Mustela's assertions about Wednesday, Fester tells a story about how he went to see her the day she was born and juggled babies in the delivery room. This just fuels Gomez and Morticia's suspicions that Wednesday has been switched, which Wednesday hears.
Gomez transports everyone to Miami in the hopes of contacting Cousin Itt for assistance with their current predicament. It travels with them through San Antonio and departs early from the family in the Grand Canyon. Meanwhile, Wednesday captures Mustela on her own and discovers that he is a Cyrus spy. He claims to be Wednesday's biological father and invites her to see him in Sausalito, California. Wednesday does a DNA test on Gomez's hair, which appears to indicate that she is not his daughter. Wednesday sneaks away from the family while they sleep, but Lurch finds her. The other Addamses figure out where she's going and follow her.
Wednesday sees Cyrus in his house, where he shows her a formula he developed to create human-animal hybrids, which is similar to Wednesday's experiment. Wednesday is persuaded to stay with Cyrus when the rest of the Addams family arrives. When Pugsley discovers that Cyrus' daughter Ophelia is a pig, Cyrus admits that he was using Wednesday's formula, which is superior to his. He kidnaps the Addams family to test them, but Wednesday refuses. Cyrus tries to get Pongo to pursue her, but it is revealed that Lurch and Pongo had met before, and they decide to set the Addamses free. During the scuffle, Cyrus comes into contact with his formula and mutates into a hybrid monster. Fester, who has transformed into a squid monster, stops the doctor from killing the family. Cyrus jumps down a cliff after a monster fight. By Wednesday, Fester had been restored to her former self, thanks to a necklace made from her family's blood.
Wednesday is reunited with her family and the two of them return to their house. While Wednesday was aware that Cyrus fudged his DNA test results, she questions Gomez about why her test showed she was unrelated to him; he confesses that his hair is a toupee to Wednesday. Gomez assures the family that the next time they meet, he will take them on a global tour.

In the movie, Wednesday and Lurch (on their way to Sausalito) pass through Death Valley, California. Wednesday comes to a halt in front of a crossroads sign depicting numerous imaginary destinations from horror films at one point. Just a few examples include Haddonfield (from Halloween (1978), Crystal Lake (from Friday the 13th (1980), the Overlook Hotel (from The Shining (1980), Amityville (from The Amityville Horror (1979), Elm Street (from A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), and The Light House (from The Lighthouse (2019).
Due to a vocal change, Finn Wolfhard was unable to reprise his part as Pugsley Addams in this film, thus Javon 'Wanna' Walton was cast.
Ophelia is a new character in the series. In the original black-and-white television series, this was the name of Morticia's sister. When the entire Addams clan joined together in The Addams Family (2019), a character based on this variation of Ophelia was visible.
Uncle Fester stated he still doesn't comprehend what Cousin Itt said when they met. Fester was able to understand Itt in a few episodes of the original show, such as The Addams Family: Cousin Itt Visits the Addams Family (1965), and actively complained to individuals who claimed they couldn't.
Wednesday was called after the nursery song "Wednesday's child is full of woe," according to her. For the original television series, this is how the character was named.
Mistakes: The Addams Family 2
- Because his hair was a toupee made of Sasquatch fur, the Wednesday DNA experiment did not match her with Gomez, but she did take hair samples from his nose, which would have been a match.
- Cousin Itt's name is misspelled as "It" again, as it was in the last film.
