Eternals is a superhero film released in 2021 that is based on the Marvel Comics race of the same name. It is the 26th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures (MCU). Chloé Zhao directed the film, which she co-wrote with Patrick Burleigh, Ryan Firpo, and Kaz Firpo. Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Harish Patel, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, and Angelina Jolie are among the ensemble cast members. After thousands of years in hiding, the Eternals, an immortal alien race, emerge to safeguard Earth from their ancient counterparts, the Deviants, in the film.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige stated in April 2018 that a film based on the Eternals was in the works, with Ryan and Kaz Firpo engaged to write the script in May. Zhao was scheduled to direct the film by late September, and he was granted a lot of creative leeway, resulting in more on-location filming than past MCU films. Burleigh was later believed to have contributed to the screenplay, which Zhao reworked. From July 2019 until February 2020, principal photography took place at Pinewood Studios, as well as on location in London, Oxford, England, and the Canary Islands.
As part of Phase Four of the MCU, Eternals premiered in Los Angeles on October 18, 2021, and was released theatrically in the United States on November 5 in RealD 3D, Monoscopic 2D, and 4DX. Storyline: Eternals (2021)
Sersi and Sprite are currently living together in London. Sersi is now in a relationship with human Dane Whitman, who works at the Natural History Museum after she was abandoned by her mate Ikaris centuries ago. The Deviant Kro attacks the trio, but Ikaris arrives and chases the beast away. When they realize the Deviants have returned, they rush to South Dakota to see their leader, Ajak, only to discover she has been murdered by Kro.
Ajak chooses Sersi as her successor after she dies, allowing her the ability to converse with Arishem, who explains that the Eternals' duty was to prepare Earth for the "Emergence," not to combat the Deviants. Arishem says that the Celestials have been planting their seeds on populated worlds for millions of years to create new celestials, with the Deviants dispatched by them to destroy the planet's apex predators to ensure the growth of sentient life. The Celestials created the Eternals to exterminate the Deviants when they evolved and began hunting the world's native populations. Earth has attained the required population for the birth of the Celestial Tiamut, which would result in Earth's demise thanks to the reversal of the Blip.
The Eternals regroup and decide to avert the Emergence after learning to love humans. They reunite with Kingo, Thena, and Gilgamesh before traveling to Druig's home in the Amazon rainforest, where Kro and the Deviants assault them. The group kills the majority of them, but Kro kills Gilgamesh before fleeing. They visit Phastos after cremating him, and he suggests that Druig put Tiamut to sleep by enhancing his mind-control abilities with the Uni-Mind, a connection between all the Eternals. Makkari, who had been living on their ship Domo, is also discovered by the squad. Ikaris states that he was informed about the Emergence millennia ago by Ajak and that to be faithful to Arishem, he fed Ajak to the Deviants six days before prevent her from preventing it, before burying her remains at her home to fake ignorance. Sprite joins Ikaris after fleeing due to her unrequited love for him, and Kingo also leaves the group since he does not want to battle Arishem or his colleagues. The Eternals battle Ikaris and Sprite before being attacked by Kro, who is then killed by Thena.
Makkari locates the site of the Emergence at the foot of an active volcano in the Indian Ocean, and the Eternals battle Ikaris and Sprite before being attacked by Kro, who is then murdered by Thena. After Sprite attempts to kill Sersi, Druig knocks her out, and the other Eternals work together to control Ikaris while Phastos activates the Uni-Mind. Ikaris breaks free from his shackles and approaches Sersi intending to kill her, but he is unable to do so owing to his love for her. When he and Sprite join the Uni-Mind, Sersi obtains enough power to turn Tiamut into marble. Ikaris, guilt-ridden, flies into the sun while Sersi uses the Uni-remaining Mind's energy to transform Sprite into a human, putting an end to her perpetual infantile state.
Sersi, Phastos, Kingo, and Sprite remain on Earth as Thena, Druig, and Makkari travel to the Domo in search of additional Eternals. When Sersi, Phastos, and Kingo are remotely transported into space by Arishem, the Dane declares his love for her and plans to expose a mystery about his family history. Arishem expresses his displeasure with their treachery but chooses to spare mankind if the Eternals' memories demonstrate that humans are deserving of life. He slips into a singularity, taking the trio with him, vowing to return for judgment.
In a mid-credits sequence, Thena, Makkari, and Druig are visited by the Eternal Eros, Thanos' brother, and his assistant, Pip the Troll, who offer their assistance. An antique chest inherited from his ancestors houses the famous Ebony Blade in a post-credits sequence when an unseen person asks whether he is ready for it.

Some trifles from Eternals (2021)
After participating in Captain Marvel (2019), Gemma Chan had no plans to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe until Kevin Feige approached her while promoting Crazy Rich Asians (2018) and asked her to portray a new character in a future production, which turned out to be Sersi in the film.
Due to the discovery of bomb fragments at a military shooting range near the site in November 2019, the cast and crew were evacuated from the Canary Islands set. Angelina Jolie and Richard Madden were there before being evacuated.
Chloé Zhao, according to Kumail Nanjiani, used practical effects for the picture and didn't utilize much green screen.

Because the Eternals were all created by the Celestials, Thanos, a Titan with the Deviant gene, is linked to them. The history of all three will be explored in this film.
Mistakes: Eternals (2021)
- When Angelina Jolie follows the deviant into the cave, the camera first shows her clutching a spear and a blade, then turns to another viewpoint where Thena is seen with a spear in one hand and no blade in the other.
- The Eternals are assisting the villagers with farming in ancient Mesopotamia. They are observed sowing corn that does not grow in that region of the earth.
- When the Eternals are hurt, their outfits return to normal once they have recovered.
