Clifford the Big Red Dog is a 2021 American live-action/computer animation family fantasy comedy film directed by Walt Becker and starring Jack Whitehall, Darby Camp, Tony Hale, Sienna Guillory, David Alan Grier, Russell Wong, Kenan Thompson, and John Cleese, based on Norman Bridwell's children's book series of the same name.
On August 26, 2021, during the 2021 CinemaCon event in Los Angeles, the picture was unannouncedly screened. It was originally set to premiere at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival in September 2021, with a theatrical release in the United States on September 17, following a delay by Paramount Pictures due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but due to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant, it was eventually pulled from the festival and its release date was removed from Paramount's schedule. On November 10, 2021, the film was released theatrically and online by Paramount+ in the United States and got mixed reviews from critics. It has made over $5 million in box office receipts.
Richard Robinson, the previous CEO of Scholastic, died on June 5, 2021, and the film is dedicated to his memory.

Storyline: Clifford the Big Red Dog
Emily is introduced to a little red dog by Mr. Bridwell, who runs an animal rescue tent at a carnival. He tells her that the puppy's size will increase in proportion to the amount of love he receives. Casey declines the adoption since he knows his sister will never agree and that dogs are not permitted in her apartment building. After being tormented yet again at school, Emily-Elizabeth returns home to find the puppy stowed away in her backpack, which she names Clifford. Emily-Elizabeth tries to persuade Casey to let her keep Clifford, but he only agrees to let her keep him for one night. Emily-Elizabeth, heartbroken, tears wishes for Clifford to be large and powerful, and as she falls asleep holding him, her tears stream down his nose.
When Emily-Elizabeth wakes up the next day, she notices Clifford is enormous. When Casey finds out about it, they try to hide him from the building's supervisor, Mr. Packard, who is fixing the dishwasher. They take him to the vet, assuming he's sick, to keep him hidden from everyone. Clifford's canine instincts lead him to chase and play with a man trapped in an inflated bubble, mistaking it for a game of fetch. This draws big audiences, and news of his existence travels swiftly online.
Clifford was discovered on social media by Zack Tieran, the proprietor of the Lyfegro biotechnology firm. He tells the cops it's his dog and orders them to look for Clifford. Mr. Packard evicts Emily-Elizabeth and Casey because of Clifford. They take refuge in Owen's opulent apartment after being pursued by the police and Lyfegro security. Casey then makes a deal with Emily-Elizabeth, promising to let her keep Mr. Bridwell if they find him and follow his advice. If he is unable to assist, they will be forced to send him to Shanghai via boat. They rush to the hospital, only to find Bridwell's bed empty and a patient seated next to them who informs them that Mr. Bridwell has passed away. Clifford is then whisked away on a boat provided by Owen's father, with Emily-Elizabeth crying as she bids him by.
Clifford is apprehended aboard the ship the next day and taken to Lyfegro. Mr. Bridwell did not die, but the information they were given at the hospital was incorrect. They enlist the help of neighbors to prevent Clifford from being operated on at Lyfegro. They smash into Lifegro and save Clifford before fleeing in Casey's truck and racing to Mr. Bridwell while being pursued by police and Lyfegro security personnel. Mr. Bridwell is eventually found at a carnival in Manhattan Bridge Park.
As a big crowd gathers to beg Mr. Bridwell for assistance, he reminds Emily-Elizabeth that the best way to fix her dilemma is to stand up for herself and Clifford and that being different is a gift. After that, Emily-Elizabeth gives a speech to the audience, telling everyone that love is more important than anything else, and that they should put their differences aside. Zack, on the other hand, intervenes and forces the cops to verify an ID chip he had implanted to see who the owner is. Through a piece of wizardry, the chip recognizes Emily-Elizabeth as Clifford's real owner, and Zack is arrested for fraud and theft. Clifford finds another enormous ball and follows it with Casey riding on his back, and the entire audience tries to take a picture of him in jubilation. Mr. Packard welcomes Emily-Elizabeth, Casey, and her mother back into their apartment, and Clifford is now adored by all.

Mr. Bridwell is named after Norman Bridwell, the inventor of the "Clifford the Big Red Dog" book series. It's probable that he's modeled after him.
