No Time to Die is an espionage film released in 2021 by Eon Productions. It is the twenty-fifth installment in the James Bond franchise. It stars Daniel Craig as fictitious British MI6 agent James Bond for the fifth and final time. Cary Joji Fukunaga directs the film, which is based on a screenplay by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Fukunaga, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen, Ana de Armas, David Dencik, and Dali Benssalah also star, with Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, Rory Kinnear, and Ralph Fiennes reprising their roles from earlier films. In this film, Bond, who has retired from MI6, is enlisted by the CIA to locate a kidnapped scientist, which leads to a confrontation with a formidable foe.

In 2016, work on the project began. It is the first Bond picture distributed by Universal Pictures, who took over the international distribution rights after Sony Pictures' contract expired with the release of Spectre in 2015. United Artists Releasing owns the North American rights, as well as the worldwide digital and broadcast rights; Universal owns the physical home media rights worldwide. Originally, Danny Boyle was set to direct and co-write the screenplay with John Hodge. Due to creative differences, both left in August 2018, and Fukunaga was revealed as Boyle's replacement a month later. By April of this year, the majority of the cast had signed contracts. Under the working title Bond 25, principal photography took place from April to October 2019.

In August of this year, the final title was revealed. After being delayed by Boyle's departure and later by the COVID-19 epidemic, No Time to Die made its global debut at the Royal Albert Hall in London on September 28, 2021, and was released in theatres on September 30, 2021, in the UK and on October 8, 2021, in the US. The film garnered favorable reviews, with many seeing it as a suitable end to Craig's Bond career, and has grossed just under $669 million worldwide, making it the sixth highest-grossing picture of 2021.

Storyline: No Time to Die

Madeleine Swann was a small girl when her mother was murdered by Lyutsifer Safin in an unsuccessful effort to kill her father, Mr. White. Safin is shot by Madeleine, but he survives. He saves her as she flees onto a nearby frozen lake and falls through the ice. Madeleine is now in Matera with James Bond, following the capture of Ernst Stavro Blofeld. When Bond visits Vesper Lynd's mausoleum, Spectre assassins ambush him. Even though Bond and Madeleine manage to escape the assassins, he believes she has betrayed him and abandons her despite her pleadings.

Valdo Obruchev, an MI6 scientist, is taken from an MI6 facility five years later. Project Heracles, a bioweapon including nanobots that infect like a virus when touched and are coded to an individual's DNA, rendering it harmful to the target and their families but harmless to others, was developed with M's agreement. Bond has retired to Jamaica, where he is called by CIA agents Felix Leiter and Logan Ash, who need Bond's assistance in locating Obruchev. Bond initially declines, but after hearing about Project Heracles from Nomi, an MI6 agent, and his replacement as 007, Bond agrees to help Leiter, despite Nomi's warnings not to participate.

In Cuba, Bond encounters Paloma, a CIA spy who works with Leiter. To recover Obruchev, they infiltrate a Spectre meeting honoring Blofeld's birthday. Blofeld, who is still imprisoned in Belmarsh, leads the conference with a disembodied "bionic eye" and orders his men to kill Bond with a "nanobot mist," but it instead kills all Spectre members because Obruchev had reprogrammed the nanobots to infect them on Safin's orders. Bond catches Obruchev and meets up with Leiter and Ash, but Ash, a Safin double agent, kills Leiter and flees with Obruchev.

Moneypenny and Q set up a meeting between Bond and Blofeld in prison to track down Obruchev. Safin pays Madeleine a visit and forces her to infect herself with a nanobot dose to murder Blofeld, as she has been in touch with him since his incarceration. When Bond meets Madeleine in Blofeld's prison cell, he accidentally touches her and becomes infected before she leaves. Blofeld admits to Bond that the ambush at Vesper's tomb was orchestrated to make it appear as if Madeleine had betrayed him. Bond retaliates by striking Blofeld, unintentionally infecting and killing him with the nanobots.

Madeleine takes Bond back to her childhood home in Norway, where he discovers she has a five-year-old daughter named Mathilde, whom she claims is not his. Safin's parents were assassinated by Madeleine's father on Blofeld's instructions while he was a child. Safin resumes his rampage with Ash and their retinue in search of Bond, Madeleine, and Mathilde, having avenged them by killing Blofeld and destroying Spectre. Even though Bond kills Ash and his thugs, Madeleine and Mathilde are kidnapped by Safin.

Bond and Nomi can penetrate Safin's headquarters, which is housed in a missile base that has been turned into a nanobot factory on an island between Japan and Russia, where Obruchev is mass-producing the technology so that Safin may use it to murder millions of people. Bond assassinates numerous of Safin's soldiers, while Nomi pushes Obruchev into a nanobot vat. Madeleine manages to elude capture while Safin frees Mathilde. Bond stays behind to open the island's blast-resistant silo doors, order a missile strike from HMS Dragon to destroy the factory, and kill Safin's last troops while Nomi takes Madeleine and Mathilde away from the island.

Bond is ambushed by Safin, who shoots him and infects him with nanobots meant to kill Madeleine and Mathilde. Despite his wounds, Bond kills Safin and opens the silos after a skirmish. Madeleine tells Bond over the radio that he loves her and encourages her to carry on without him. As Bond makes his goodbyes, Madeleine admits that Mathilde is his daughter. The island was bombarded by missiles, which destroyed the nanobot factory and killed Bond.
At MI6, M, Moneypenny, Nomi, Q, and Tanner all have a drink in Bond's honor. Madeleine tells Mathilde about her father, James Bond, as they drive to Matera.

Some trifles from No Time to Die

According to reports, James Bond actor Daniel Craig hand-picked Cuban actress Ana de Armas to play Paloma in this Bond film after working with her in Knives Out (2019), which came out just four months before No Time to Die was supposed to come out.

Daniel Craig has stated that if he feels he is too old to portray James Bond, he will quit the role. Craig has also stated that staying in shape for the part has become more difficult, and that action sequences have become increasingly reliant on doubles.

The production cost approximately EUR 60,000 (equivalent to USD 77,000, Australian $100,000, and UK pound £50,000) and used approximately 8,400 gallons or 31,797 liters of Coca-Cola poured on the old streets of Matera, Italy. The reason behind this is that Coca-Cola is a liquid glue. It was utilized in the motorcycle leap scene, for example, to make the ramp surface sticky and prevent the bike from slipping. According to reports, the producers spilled the soft drink all over Matera's streets during the bike and vehicle chases, necessitating a major clean-up. "I've been spraying Coca-Cola on slick surfaces for a very long time," said stunt coordinator Lee Morrison, adding that the drink can "make things look quite clean once it washes off."

The sort of mask used by Safin (Rami Malek) in the film is known as a "Noh" mask. They are carved from Japanese cypress blocks and then hand-painted with natural colors. The resemblance of the syllables "No" and "Noh" prompted early speculation that Malik's character was a new incarnation of Dr. No, the titular character in the first James Bond film 'Dr. No' (1962).

This will be the first time an IMAX camera has been used in a James Bond film. Previous Bond films that were shown in IMAX theaters were up-scaled to the IMAX format, which meant that they were optimized for IMAX theaters. The film was also shot on 65mm Panavision cameras.

Since Licence to Kill (1989), this is the first James Bond film to feature all four characters: Q, Felix Leiter, Miss Moneypenny, and M, a thirty-one-year gap.

Due to his age and his injury in Spectre, Daniel Craig is reportedly going to drastically reduce his dangerous stunt work in this picture (2015). According to the UK's "Mirror" newspaper, a source claimed, "It's a significant bone of contention." Rachel [wife Rachel Weisz] does not want him to be in pain any longer. "There's a legacy to all these injuries, and she lives with them," she says, adding that "none of his aches and pains have gone away totally." They've agreed on how far he'll push himself, and he's backing away from the edge this time. It's a requirement. " "I wrecked my knee and had surgery," Craig added. "I've had my right shoulder reconstructed, my other knee worked on, and my thumb was injured." Craig's stunt coordinator, Gary Powell, noted that getting him to slow down will be difficult: "He's intrepid." It's difficult to stop him. But he lives with the injuries, and the aches and sufferings linger long after the movie is over. " According to a source, Weisz has been losing sleep at night because she can't bear the thought of her husband being hurt on a huge action movie set, which she has dubbed "the boxing ring."

The film's formal premiere and announcement took place at GoldenEye in Jamaica, which was previously the home of Ian Fleming, who conceived the James Bond character in 1952. On the island, Ian Fleming created twelve novels and two collections of short tales. Island Outpost, which was formed by Chris Blackwell, the former owner of Island Records, owns and operates GoldenEye. Although GoldenEye was not used as a filming location for the film, key creatives and primary cast members stayed there for the launch party and the Jamaican leg of the shoot.

At the end of the film, M (Ralph Fiennes) recites a phrase from American novelist Jack London. It reads: "Man's primary function is to live, not to exist. I'm not going to waste my days trying to make them last longer. I'll make the most of my time ". This is a condensed version of a larger quote that reads, "I'd rather be ashes than dust!" I'd prefer my spark burn out in a dazzling blaze than be suffocated by dry-rot. I'd rather be a spectacular meteor, with every particle of me glowing brilliantly than a drowsy and permanent planet. Man's primary function is to live, not to exist. I'm not going to waste my days trying to make them last longer. I'm going to make the most of my time."

Mistakes in No Time to Die

  • Madeline Swann appears as a toddler in the opening segment, setting the scene around the mid-1990s. Safin's machine gun, on the other hand, is a Czech Small Arms Sa Vz. 58 Compact, which did not exist before 2007.
  • The girl's Beretta 92 makes a sound like it's suppressed when she fires it, yet there's no suppressor on it.
  • In the clip with the toxic garden, Madeleine is wearing stilettos. In the next scene, she's wearing high heels with a broad heel.
  • In the port of Santiago de Cuba, a cargo ship from the French corporation CMA CGM is docked. Because Cuba is still subject to US sanctions, CMA ships never dock in Cuban ports.
  • It's possible that James Bond or any of the protagonists fled the island on the scissor-wing plane that brought them there. That plane, on the other hand, was a glider that only flew "on gravity."
  • There is no response from any security forces once Safin's men break into the laboratory. Given the fact that the facility is run by or works for MI6, as well as the types of viruses it houses, this appears improbable.
  • M reads the Jack London quote from a page that is far too close to the book's midpoint. It's from the beginning.
  • The electronic eye of Primo blows up when Bond triggers his EMP watch. Bond's comm gadget in his ear is still in good working order.
